Achilles house
                   in 62A Kesteven Avenue Auckland

This property is a new build home - 2 level, 4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, double garage of  250m2 floor area on a subdivided 400m2 section.

Design Concept:

1.     Develop the theme for the colour scheme. This started by creating a connection with a prominent local natural feature - Rangitoto Island, which is a dormant island volcano in the middle of Auckland Harbour

2.     To view Rangitoto Island the closest nearby location is Achilles Point. This memorial park was named after the famous NZ second world war warship HMNZS Achilles involved in the sinking of the German pocket battleship Graf Spee at Montevideo Uruguay in 1939. Some of the colours from this warship were used to add a nautical element to the theme.

3.  HMNZS Achilles was itself named after Achilles, the greatest of all the Greek warriors, from Greek mythology. Some certain color was also selected to reflect the brave spirit of the developer and investor.

Design Outcome:

The investor wishes to maximise their profits from the project. My expectation is that a unique design concept will create a landmark building that appeals to a high-end purchaser and results in a higher market price for the home.

The bespoke nature of the design concept combined with the connection to the locality and its cultural history should assist in achieving this result for the investor.
